 Calcium Supplement

Please provide feedback on calcium supplements. I have read mixed reviews. If you feed your tortoise a calcium supplement, please suggest a good one and how often you deliver the supplement. Thanks in advance for your help!

You need to give your tortoise a calcium supplement.

Any brand is fine as long as it is just pure calcium WITHOUT phosphorus. I sprinkle my tortoise’s salad with some every other day.

You’ll need to give the tortoise a calcium or multivitamin powder that contains vitamin D3 while the tortoise is indoors; if you have an outdoor pen that gets lots of sunlight you don’t need to worry about it. But assuming you bring it in for the winter, you’ll need to give it this supplement once a week, sprinkled onto its salad. Again, any phosphorus free supplement is good.
