Ok! I think your Green Tree Frog may have a Bloated Abdomen... I think you might want to bring him to your vet or find a vet if you don’t have one... I hope your Tree Frog gets better, and I hope what I think it is is wrong... Best Wishes!!!!!

I saw the website has this pic:
http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=4407627&uid%20=2253174&members=1
If this is the case, then your frog may have "prolapse"
It may be caused by stress and the red is his intestine!!

Hope he’ll feel better !

Just copy and paste to browser and hit "go"
If not, here is what they are saying in essence "I don’t know if the same rule applies to frogs as it does turtles. But one of my turtles used to prolapse his intestine every week. My vet said it was a sign he was stressed out and that when he got a bit bigger it should stop happening, and it has. What I used to do for my turtle was take a bowl of spring water with a few electrolyte drops, the drops aren’t absolutley nessecary but my vet reccomended them because she said that he might not have been eating and digesting properly while his intestines were out, so the drops would replace lost electrolytes. Anyway I would microwave the water to heat it up and then put a thermometer in it, to watch to see the temps. When it reached around 90 i think, it shouldn’t be scalding hot but warm to the touch, I would let my turtle sit in it for a little while, taking him out when the water felt cool and reheating and starting the whole process over at least once. I would try to get him to sit in warm water for at least 10-15 minutes.Within a few hours of taking him out he would always bring it back inside himself. I wouldn’t recommend pushing it back in because the tissue might be delicate ot irritated and it could bust or tear, and that would be bad. I hope that helps, I never had my frogs prolapse intestines before, but I don’t suppose it would hurt to try that method on a frog."
"That’s a cloacal prolapse. What you need to do with a frog is reduce the swelling by putting it in a hypertonic solution that will remove the extra fluid or edema. The easiest and safest is probably a saturated solution of sugar water, although you can use ophthalmic saline, as well. Just stir in as much sugar as will dissolve in some spring water and plunk his butt in it. This will "draw out" the swelling caused by excess fluid by osmosis. You CAN push it back in if this doesn’t work completely, with a Q-tip lubricated with KY jelly. But as Kristina points out, this is full of possible problems in doing more damage unless you are very delicate about it. There are many causes of prolapse, so do consult the veterinarian. These are merely emergency measures, although occasionally, it works in the long run." But finally this frog died according to what they say in their chat room...

I don’t have experience w/ prolapsed but just happened to see that when Iw as finding info to help my frog. You can go to their chat room and ask those specific people.
Try this, go to the main site:
http://talkto.thefrog.org
Then go to "search" (near top of page)
Type in "Prolapsed Intestine?" then search
Then u can go to see chats about prolapsed. Good luck!

I think bottle water is same as spring water. At the super market, you’ll see different kinds of bottle water, e.g., distilled water, drinking water, and spring mountain water, etc Choose the spring water one...

I think you should take your frog to the vet. I’m not familar with frog prolapses, but in reptiles thats the organs that come out. The longer you wait the worse it will get.

Vet prices are way to high. 50 dollars for a checkup is steep especially because I’m a kid. I mean I dont want my frogs to die. If I had the money and my frog was sick I would take it to the vet but its just so .

Did the prolapsed intestine went back inside?? Is it because you used the sugar solution as stated in their chat room? I’d like to know incause it may happen to my frogs later...I’m not a kid and make my own money but when my frog was sick I had problem finding a lcoal vet, and I found myself helpless...It’s good to have all of you here as my support. I appreciate your company! Thanks!
