Can you use Elmer’s glue in a froggies tank?
Anyways. I would like some adivce on using elmers glue in a froggies tank to glue moss and other items to the back of a exotera tank. maily to secure items. I know it’s non-toxic but didn’t know if it would be safe for the babies. I would never want to do anything that would harm them. Also do you think that the glue would hold up to everyday normal misting? If this is a bad choice could someone tell me what would be a good choice to use. Thank you for your help. |

NO... When designing amphibian tanks or any humid envioronment its best to use products associated with fish tanks.. Not just water... Most glues etc...give off toxins in heat or moisture or will break down over time.... I suggest using aquarium safe silicone (it must say right on the tube). Its more expensive but worth it in the long run... Some also cut notches out in the background for putting a stem or branch through.... I use branches with plant ties holding small food quality shot glasses (dollar stores) for air plants...I do this with no holes made just the branches going across the tank... I avoid all glueing or potential holes so I may change my set up at any time... Tips: Dye test, food quality items, fish aquarium safe.....No metals, don’t use plastics that will remain in water, no sponges except fish aquarium type, no rubber, no glues, no silicones (unless for fish)... Thank you so much for your reply. Sorry it’s toke so long. I like to find out the info before I start something. I would have been mad at myself if something would have happened to my babies. They are my kids. When I get some time I’ll get some pics up of Wongo. He’s my blue phase whites. He’s great. Anyways Thanks. |
