Handling i have a question, does anyone have a hard time handling their tree frog? Ive had Hercules for about a year and we can never take him out of his cage because hes too jumpy. He wont sit on our hands for more than 5 secs. any ideas?

Handling I found a frog in my friend’s yard. We kept him for a few months and he was jumpy so we let him go away...We released him to our neighborhood creek because we figure he doesn’t like to be kept in the cage...The other 3 frogs that we’re keeping are not jumpy. They like the cage, and sleep in the cage, etc and seems they enjoy it...Also these ones I call them "stable ones" (nonn-jumpy) they will stay on my fingers...But too much handling is always not recommended as it will reduce the frogs life expectancy. I think some frogs can be kept in a cage, but some cannot...I don’t know how it happens but maybe they have their own mind set...

Handling What kind of frog is Hercules? Frogs are more display pets cuz due to the oils from peoples hands it’s not really recommended that they be handled. I think White’s Tree Frogs are the exception to that rule.reako45

Handling i cant handle my tree frogs...they tend to be really good jumpers and i’m afraid that if i take them out to hold them they could jump somewhere that would end up hurting them. i dont know if maybe its something that u would be able to get them used to by handling them a lot...but that does more harm then good. I’d say if u want a frog u can handle then get a whites tree frog..they tend to be more mello
