Went to Petco, and Petsmart... 15 more miles.... No pinhead crickets.. Drove to a Pet shop in that city... 5 more miles... NO PINHEAD Crickets... Called the Pet Store that was 15 more miles in the OTHER direction.. NONE!! You would think I live in the middle of nowhere, but I am just outside of Charlotte, NC. LOL, I have a few left, but I seriously need a good online dealer that can mail me pinheads, anyone have a reccomendation?? Would really appreciate the help! Will they die in 100 Degree weather? Thanks! Erin |

There are a bunch of places on line. I’ve been using Pre mi um C rickets out of Georgia. They pack them pretty good and I haven’t had any DOA. They don’t ship on weekends though because they do die sitting there at the shipper’s over the weekend. The more you order the less expensive it is. Worms do terrible ordering in heat, but cricks usually fare well. Order on say a Mon morning and you will get that week. I get 1,000 and store them in a huge rubbermaid storage bin that is high enough they can’t jump out. You have to have a lot of air circulation or they die faster and make the container wet and smelly. I’ve ordered 500 also. That works. You have to give them food and a water source. If your interested I can tell you more on how I do it. Linda |

I use LLLReptile now, it is the cheapest at $16.99 and fastest too. Though if you want them this week you’ll have to choose overnight which is $26.99. Otherwise your order will place and ship Monday, I usually receive mine Tues or at the latest Wed. So if you need them right now do the overnight, and in the future the reg route. |

Try to keep them in a cool area that way they won’t grow as fast. Make sure you buy at least a size smaller than you need, because in worm weather they will grow fast. Crickets don’t live very long, so you want to make sure you don’t buy the largest ones. Give them fish flakes, carrots, potatoes to eat at least 24hrs before feeding to your frogs. The will need water also. Crickets are pretty dumb, so don’t put in a dish of water or they all will drown. Put in a piece of paper towel to soak up the water and that way they won’t drown. Here is the link you, can ck out. Link |

What a pain..I’ve had that happen too.... I now call ahead or order on line too.... On line is much cheaper and keeping a 1000 at a time really isn’t bad.... A large plastic container thats deep like a 40 lte is perfect and cheap to buy. I just put in paper towel substrate and food and water dish and egg carton pces and off they go. When needed I shake some of the egg carton into a plastic freezer bag and then put in a crix feeder container (has tubes for easy feedings)... Then feed frogs. Others just tip bag of crix into the feeder container. Whatever works and believe me you get used to the nasty crawly things after awhile...lol hahaha! HOPPY |

Oh... if you do decide to keep in a container...make sure you have air holes on top by cutting out a couple of 4 inch holes and duct tape or silicone a pce of screening over them.. Also some containers have small holes in the handle areas..insure these are sealed by duct tape too or check for another that doesn’t.. HOPPY |
