I currently have 4 that I’m hoping to breed. I caught my first 3 as tadpoles back in June. They’re still very small. I believe they take a year to reach maturity w/ the males topping out @ about 1-1.5" and females @ 2". Best info on breeding would probalby be @ www.enature.com enature. there a few other good sites too. Type Hyla regilla (the latin name for PTFs) into your search engine and you’re bound to come up w/ some good info. These littlr buggers are featured in "Reptiles" Magazine’s Annual as good WC pet frogs.reako45

I go out and catch these to in my grandparents house near temecula where i see them at night almost all the time.

Are yours full-grown adults. Mine are still froglets, about 4 mos old. What do oyu have, males or females? Mine are still too young to tell. I think the care sheet said males have darker throats.reako45

I think mine is full grown because it is 2 inches long but I cant tel if it is a male or female. Did U know its illegal to keep these frogs that we have.

If you’ve got one that’s 2" it’s probably female! Cool! Like I said I’ve never seen anything posted in any of the herp shops I go to about these animals being illegal to keep, just on websites.reako45
