Got a new tank okay, after reading many posts, i decided that our new family member would need more space. she is currently in a 12x12x18 terrarium. I had a 30 gal tall tank (12x24x24) for fish long ago. we have cleaned it w/ vinegar and water and wiped it clean w/ white cloths. Now for the transformation...suggestions welcome. we got a screen to cover the top,but no light as of yet. i’d like to be able to put live plants in, so what lights or lamps are best? how about what plants are best? and finally what about keeping the temps correct? uth or lamps? thanks for any help you can offer. we will make sure the new tank is ready before moving her in so we don’t stress her too much.

Got a new tank I have a 15w heat lamp and a florescent light. I don’t care much for the uth, but there are alot of people that like them and use them. If you use a uth, make sure your tank is glass not plexy glass.
The heat lamp and the florescent are on all day and then at night just the red 15 watt heat lamp.
The florescent lamps are great for live plants. Just make sure you wash them really well before planting them in your tank.
I have pothos in my tank, but you can do a search on the web and find alot of different types of plants you can use.
Hope this helps.

Got a new tank If you actually plant the plants into the coconut fiber (bed a beast), cleanup just includes cleaning the water, wiping down some of the decor and glass, and spraying the feces into the soil. The plants will use the feces as fertilizer because poo is so rich in nutrients. Be sure to have a gravel layer under the 2 inch or so layer of coco fiber. I use pothos for my WTFs as it is hardy, easily availible and strong enough to hold up my fatties lol. It’ll be fine, but in the future, when changing species or if a previous animal had died in the tank, use bleach water, but a very watered down solution and rinse very very well. GOOD LUCK

Got a new tank I posted about lighting in one of your other threads about your WTF. Anyways as for plants pothos are great like previously stated. They are very hardy and can support your frogs. You can also try bromeliads, mosses, dracaena sp., pepperomia, hardy ferns, and more but my mind went blank. Include lots of driftwood for climbing. Cleaning isnt too big of an issue in a vivarium setup. Although spot cleaning is a good idea because the feces have high levels of ammonia. But the plants will take care of most of this. Good luck.
