yes you can, and theyre really quite simple. you will have to go to a local hardware store, Home Depot, Lowes, ect. and by a "reflecting grid" which most people call egg crate. Its those plastic grids under the flourecent lighting in places like schools and such that helps to spread the light. then, cut it to the size of your terrarium. Then, take a long piece of PVC pipe and cut it into equal sections (this will decide how deep the water chamber is so plan ahead, but 2 inches is usually a good depth. Cut enough of these so that when you place them along the bottom of your terrarium, especially in corners and in center area, that it is strong enough to support weight. so now, you have 2 inches of PVC piping holding up your egg crate. then, use a screening material, (i use a fiberglass screening which is about 5 dollars a roll, and the roll is huge and will last a long time, this can also be purchased at a hardware store. layer that on the top of the egg crate and just add your substrate. then fill the bottom with water so that it wicks up into your substrate. if that was too confusing, let me know and i will put up pictures..

You can also use rocks under the grid or lecca balls instead of the piping..

As long as there is drainage of sorts.... This reduces mold issues.... Plants need it too...
