This Person thinks WTFs are always a handleable frog he lets them on KIDS faces for petes sake! look at the top of the post they are trying to get this guy to stop but he isnt. |

Unfortunately people take Whites docile nature and tame demeanor and take it forgranted....Like dogs many get abused... This is where forums come into play on educating proper care... I will just say in defense of those pics.. that many Whites for whatever reason do jump on people faces..even my own have splat landed on mine..lol Its possible that these pics where taken upon first meetings as many Whites do this at first... And the word ’handable’ is associated with Whites as they really do like human company. Whites are considered pet tame by association.... All we can really do is try to teach the right attitudes by forums.. Going after websites though good most won’t listen nor change their instructions.... On that one there isn’t really anything to call ’abuse’ on if you know what I mean. I don’t agree with it either but its how you read it.. Now if they were doing something awful that takes the life of the frog if illegal then you could jump.. HOPPY |

Oh....I’m sorry Hassah.... No..no.... I wasn’t yelling at all.... I truly hope it doesn’t read that way.... I’d be the last person you would have to worry over yelling at you.. Like Utube web site Yesterday had a car accident video that took the lives of a young girl and a man that died at the scene. It was put on utube before even the family knew...Right after the accident by cell phone actually!!!!..... Names still are not released though I know who the young girl is.... Its wicked...you can’t tell me that utube site doesn’t know that putting a video that is real of two people dying is right... Do we really need to see them die? How much is too much?.... Can you imagine if this was your daughter or father?????? How that family would feel seeing a video of their loved one dying???? These sites release themselves from all responsibility not that I don’t like utube because I do but some things should just be sacred... And other sites should be sure of the information they put like the frogs care... This is why the information is so confusing to new owners and in many cases crosses the boundaries of decency in my opinion of the world wide web..... HOPPY |

When you first bring them home Kandace you should handle them as little as possible... Firstly because of stress and secondly because we have acid on our hands that hurt the frogs and thirdly some have toxins that can hurt us too.... Now that said...build trust first and then and only then you can handle them for a few minutes daily if they are comfortable with you.. No more than 15 minutes at any given time as they need water to remove any acid or anything they have encountered while out. (Insure they are out on clean surfaces like your hands not counter tops or your face or any place else)...All these other locations have soaps or bleach or even wax or furniture spray or perfume or many many things... This handling should only be done by routine until the frog comes to you on its own. Some will never do this like kids some bond some don’t... Also do this with feeding times so that they learn you mean food.. Frogs are not really a pet that likes or needs handling. Some do bond and tolerate humans handling Whites treefrogs usually.. a few toads..... I do have big eyed treefrogs that tolerate handling but its only when I move them to clean their tank... Wash your hands before and after handling or doing anything in their tank... Stress from handling is the biggest killer of pet frogs as they fall sick to other ailments... HOPPY |

im happy you tell me all this stuff cuz people at the pet store must be really dumb hmmm i havent really handled it much other then when i like fix its tank and all that i knew about the toxins and all tht but i didnt know it stressed them out.. |

Stress is a common killer of pet frogs..... They don’t show it either really.. Some will by not eating and hiding but others seem over active and very tame.. HOPPY |

Kai:.... Not all frogs are tame and handable. Frogs are not considered a handable pet. Only some become tame which is fine. I too have ones that come to me unaided... Out of the 4 I have only two come all the time..the others more shy... However this post was on a website that shows them on the face. They do jump to the face once in awhile when tame (mine have many a time).... But its not encouraged. The point of this post was to let people know that handling should be done in hand that is washed first and moistened so as to not damage the frogs skin as we have acid on our skin etc... Many people use soaps or perfume etc that is all toxic to any frog so putting it anywhere but a place not washed beforehand is risky on making your pet frog ill.. Furniture can contain wood toxins or plastics or cleaning products etc... Again if you know this then you should protect your frog from any undue risk like you would any child or pet.. Its each owners choice but its wise to know the dangers and risks of such.. Be kind.. HOPPY |
