 BUMP ON WTF HELP PLZ!

Alright well i was inspecting Chumpy again and i noticed a small bump on Chumpys stomach (not in the stomach but on the skin or something) well it isnt a different color like red or something just white. he/she is eating pooping and bathing normaly nothing moves on the inside of it either also the bump is hard ill try to take a pic as soon as i can. it is hard to get a picture cus well its on his stomach and doesnt like to be held so his stomach is facing out but i did it b4 and so im guna try still to take a pic (he moves and wrigles around when i try to get a good pic of the stomach so i put him in my tank so he doesnt get stressed out)

Hey Hazzah,


I’m not really sure if that bump on your frog’s belly is benign or harmful, so you’ll have to post a picture...
however, my WTF, duke, who started with a small bump on his hindleg, now has bumps now of weird shapes on his hindleg and itts like whiteish on his leg...
i’ve been using mela fix for the past 7 days, and it hasn’t improved.
i’m taking him to the vet soon, aas soon as i can...
Hopefully yours is just some.. benign bump, but you could use mela fix if the case starts gettingw orse.

Duke’s had the bump since februrary.. so i guess its a small bacteria that won’t kill so fast..
but yeah 3 months later, duke’s raelly active, eating and whatnot, pooping on regular basis.
But his leg doesn’t look so hot... but its still mobile and all.

get a picture and i could tell you whats up.

Well i noticed another bump yesterday on Chumpy but instead of being a bump it looks like something bit it cus a lil bit of is coming out or blood idk i think both but not alot looks like a cricket bit him. But if the bump was there yesterday and is now a cricket bite wouldn’t u of seen immediate results in the so called bite idk I’m guna try to get a pictures asap. should i get the Mela fix stuff?

If you don’t have a vet near by, yes try the mela fix, but you have to follow the directions to the T.
We really can’t tell you for sure what it is with out seeing a pic, but in the mean time, start the mela.

Have you put him in a sick tank?

If not its the only chance of survival if bacterial or parasitic etc... So this must be done first..

A sick tank is higher temps day and night kept the same at 85f and low humidity with sterile deco etc...paper towel substrate..

Without this sick tank using mela fix won’t help... Everything has to work in conjunction with each other so there is no re-contamination..

Most try the mela fix first before a vet as they can be pricey but worth it if the mela fix doesn’t work...
1/2 hour drive is nothing. If you don’t get the meds soon all can be lost..


If this frog is with another frog it must be treated as sick too so all the same applies..

If he’s eating etc... I would leave him be....

Keep an eye as you can always use the treatment later... Insure you have the mela fix on hand... a 24 hr to 48 hr window is really the best time for treatments...

yeah he is eating bathing and pooing fine.i did buy it just in case though is it normal for WTFs to sleep right next to each other i mean Tsunami is sleping above Chumpy but they are literaly touching i find it cute.

lol...I love that name tsunami..hahaha..so cute..

Glad you found it (mela fix)....

Keep an eye.... Many drop their appetite some after being home a month or two as food is now plentiful to them compared to the stores feedings... So keep this in mind if it comes up...

There should also be no odour from the waste like a foul smell as soon as you open tank doors....This is a sign of parasitic infestation. If caught early all can be treated with the mela fix ...

Hazzah since a cricket bite came up I’ll throw this info out there. IF you feed inside your tank you need to keep a close eye on the frogs eating habits. Make sure the crickets don’t stay in the viv too long. It is also a good idea to have food in the frog viv for the crickets. The crickets will continue to eat no matter where they are and if there is no food for them in the tank with the frogs they will bite the frogs. They can give a nasty bite and as you can imagine the disgusting little critters can cause infections, which can be fatal to the frog if not caught in time.

So make sure there aren’t too many crickets in teh viv with your frogs, only put a few in at a time and drop some food in there too for them.

Frogs do have the ability to heal could you have possibly seem a wound at the end of the healing process?? They can get little irritated spots or bumps etc like we all get. Just keep an eye and he should be fine.
Just make sure there is nothing sharp or too hot that he could be irritating or injuring himself on. Like a sharp piece of branch or rock or silk plant or something that holds heat too close to your light etc etc

You now have the mela on hand so can treat if something flares up.
