 Which one should i get

i’m am allowed to get another pet and right now i really want a tree frog,i was thinking either a barking treefrog,wtf,a white lipped,or big eye tree frog.i currently have a 20 gallon long(until i get one that is high).i am not new to owning frogs,but this will be my first treefrog and i know they will be different.i’m leaning over to either get a barking treefrog or the big eyed,if anybody has any of these species please let me know of your experience with them

I’ve had Big Eyed Tree frogs in the past and they sure are cute!

My BETF buried themselves almost all day. I hardly ever saw them at night, either. I don’t want you to base your decision soley on my experience. For all I know, my BETF didn’t know they were tree frogs. :P

The humidity and temperature were fine, so I saw no reason for them to be burying themselves.

Hopefully someone else can add to this discussion.

You can easily turn the 20L on end and use it that way. It provides a nice tall climbing area. You can just silicone in a piece of plexi to hold some substrate in the bottom and use a standard screen top. If you don’t already have one I’d recommend the one that is hinged in the center so when it is on end it will flip down to access the tank. There is also a new one out that has a little door built it.

Big eyed tree frogs are very secretive little guys......... Hoppy has them and hers are shy too.

The 20l would be fine for WTF as it is. They like to crawl/walk around alot. So as long as you put in some climbing branches too it would work fine for 1 frog.
Sorry but I don’t know much about the barking.

Barking Tree frogs are native to Florida, however, I haven’t found any yet, I can find out about them though if you are interested in getting one of those. I do know, according to an audio documentary from the smithsonian I have, barking tree frogs and the american green tree frog have been known to inter breed and produce hybrids, so they are most likely similar in needs and care, but I can check to be sure. I do know they breed together, not sure if they live in the same areas the rest of the year or not.
