 My First Frog!!!

I am thinking about getting a frog. I have never had one before, and I really want one. What kind of frog is a goood strater forg? And what good starter frog can be comfortably housed in a 10 gallon tank? I want a frog that i will be able to hold, and become attachted to.

WTF are very comfortable with humans they are not afraid and they dont mind being handled. i was in a toss up between the Whites Tree Frog and a Red Eyed Tree Frog, but the WTF is more beginner friendly

Those frogs get big, but yeah, you can get one of those as well. I’m not sure on price. Try googling "reptile" and your zipcode...it’ll usually spit out some mom and pop shops in your area. I prefer those to petstore chains any day. You can also order them online, but it’s better to just purchase from a store.

u can not house a WTF in a 10gal unless it is a baby like 1 in-2in any bigger they have to be housed in a 20gal or bigger
1 frog = 20gal
2 frog = 30gal
3 frog = 40gal

so yeah

Im an old timer, not as long as whitie or hoppy (and they give some great advice), but I can answer your question.

What Hazzah said is true for a White’s you need at least a 20gallon.

Frogs are cool to own as pets, but not very handlable. The white’s you will be able to hold them for about a couple of minutes or so.

Fire bellys are cool as well, and you can have 2 in a 10gallon. They are super easy to take care of.

I would say if you want something that you can hold and love, and have it "love" you, than a frog is not for you. Try a rat or mouse, these are very sociable animals.

Whatever you do make sure you research the care needed and that you will be able to provide for it.
