I’m really worried now
He’s dark brown all the time now without even a leg being slightly blue. He won’t eat anymore. He looks really alert, and walks around sometimes, but what am I supposed to do? I can’t wait any more. I’m starting to get really worried and I’m starting to feel helpless. |

Give us a complete run down of your tank, everything in it, where it is setting, like...near a window, ac vent etc. What type of water dish do you have? What type of water are you using? Tap or bottled, treated? What type of substrate, plants, branches to climb on? You need to answer these as best as you can, or find some way to show us a pic of the set up and frog. Have you done any treatments yet for this frog, if so what? You need to act fast, because once a frog is showing signs of being sick, if you don’t treat it right away it may be to late. |

Hospital(he’s in it now): 85 degrees usually, sometimes goes higher or lower(But I quickly correct that) I have a digital hydrometer/thermometer It’s a ten gallon on the floor in the middle of my room. It has paper towels for substrate, two caves, and a water bowl. I covered all four sides with black construction paper It’s a store bought water bowl. It’s smooth stoney material. I sometimes use tap, I’ll admit. I use bottled sometimes as well Substrate is paper towels, no plants or anything Original tank: It’s a 20 tall placed next to gerbils and also some FBTs(next to it, not with it) I use coconut fiber as substrate(Used to have moss as well, but took it out after he got sick) I have a UTH, a uvb/uva light. The temps are usually 80-85 the humidity 50-70 I have a cave and a hollow log thing, three live plants, a vine, and a couple fake plants I sometimes use tap, sometimes use bottled I’ve treated this frog with mela-fix dips for a week and stopped. No improvement. Actually, you know this frog. You instructed me in the thread, "Help! Unsure of what’s wrong!" and I followed everything, but there was so improvement and he stopped eating now. He’s been sick for like, 2-3 weeks. |

I know I answered your post on the frog forum, just wanted to get every thing in one place, so you don’t have to keep answering the same questions. Does he have anything to climb on to get up high? Is the whole tank that temp? Or are you able to keep one side a little cooler? |

In his original tank he does. He has a vine and some fake plants In his hospital tank, I thought someone said as little decor as possible? I assume one side of the tank is cooler because I have a heat pad on one side and when I turn on his heat lamp if the temperature is low, I keep on on the same side as the heat pad. I put the thermometer in the middle, so I’m not sure. I think it is, though |

Removes chlorine and breaks the chloramine bond Aquarium dechlorinator I stopped using it, though, once he got sick. Once he got sick, I used only bottled water and tap water once or twice. |

Did you follow the directions correctly? Some times people just guess instead of doing the right measurements and that can be dangerous. |

Please try to continue one post on his health from now on ok?.... Its hard for any members reading to keep up with whats been said and done and to follow.. It would help me especially greatly... I’m coming in late here so you will have to fill in the gaps for me to help you... I understand this is a new frog? I also understand that he was on moss and impaction was thought a possibility? Has he passed waste? Eating? He is now in a hopital tank with little deco as stated above....this is good. You have done mela fix completely? Temps and humidity are 85f and humidity low? If he has not passed waste or eaten do you know the last time he ate? Does he seem bloated at all? Pics would really help if you could get some.... I want you to try something if he hasn’t passed waste at all..... Can you get some mineral oil just a couple of drops from an eye dropper and wick them into his mouth.. Wicking something is done by placing drops over the mouth though closed should find its way into the mouth... YOu may need another person to help while one holds the frog... This is harmless to him.. I then would like you to give him 5 min soaks in just barely warm water like with the mela fix dip instructions is fine.. Do it daily for a few days until passing waste..... Keep us posted... HOPPY |

One more thing with the warm water soaks...try for 5 min but if he seems stressed try as long as you can get after 1 min..... some sit comfortably others after 3 min etc.. These instructions are only needed if you think impaction is still a possibility.. HOPPY |
