 Gray tree frog hibernation?

Hi
I collected several gray tree frogs from outside, I was just wondering if hibernation would be a problem in winter for them? Will they be fine if they dont hibernate? I libe in Upper Michigan.

 Gray tree frog hibernation?

Its wise to add a heat source night and day if you plan on keeping these guys.. They will hibernate if a heat source is not provided... Hibernating can be detrimentol for some frogs as they must have enough fat and moisture to survive it..

In captivity most keepers do not hibernate the frogs unless for breeding or accidently....

Though I would rather see them back in the wild I’m glad your looking into their needs..

I wouldn’t let their heat be below 80f and 75f at night.... Some use day and night lamps. Others use one lamp like an infrared day and night and let the house night temps drops instead of changing lights..

Some use a uth for night and no lamps..... and just lamp for day with uth....

Thanks for the reply. I have them in my boas cage which has live plants and plenty of heat lamps. And the humidity stays decent also. I was just making sure that if I keep them through winter that they will still be active, I’m sure they would as the temps wouldnt go below 60 degrees. Also there still little ones and for everyone I took I think 2 re-appeared, I also tried to take the tinest ones that looked underfed as they probably wouldnt have lasted long in the wild around here. Its almost a rarity to see an adult even though I caught one that was on my deck for several hours. It was a male so I kept it.
