 Possible sick frog

My husband has a white’s tree frog he got for Christmas. For the past few days he has been acting oddly. Normally he hangs out on the side of the glass somewhere or under his plastic log. But lately, he’s been sitting in a corner. He sort of dug a little hole & is sitting in there. Yesterday he came out a few times to wander around the glass but then this morning he’s in the hole again. He’s not seeming as active as he normally is and there are two crickets in there that he hasn’t eaten yet. We do feed him every couple days so that’s not all that odd but why is he sitting in a hole in the corner? His heat & humidity are fine.

Can anyone give me an idea what to do?

It would be easiest to assess the problem with a picture of the tank, that is usually the problem.

When you say the temp and humidity are fine what are they day and night? Where are you measuring them at?

Where is the tank located in your house? Is it near a window or where light can be reaching? Is it near a vent where it could be getting a cold draft from AC?

Some do like to burrow so can be a normal activity... Many that like to burrow benefit from a cave like a coconut shell hut or reptile cave. This can be in search from noise and or more privacy.....

Some may also do this with weather or light change if they find it too bright... Have you changed bulbs or tank placement etc? Insure his light is diffused down to the substrate by large leafy plants.

A pic is always worth looking into whenever a change in behavior occurs.... They are creatures of habit for the most part so it should always be checked....

One other thing that I should mention..... We are now into fall and the air molecules change which frogs sense though no change in the tank. This can be from the wild intuition letting them know its time to hibernate..

Its pertinent that your temps be well into the 80f ranges to insure that the lower levels of your tank are in the 75f (aboreal tanks expecially) range to prevent your frog from going into this dormancy stage...

Sometimes a change in bulb from a infrared say to a normal bulb can prevent this also depending on type your’re using...

Act quickly as once they do go dormant waking them can be a challenge...
