 Wtf Question???????????

only if room temp is around 85 degrees

lights can dry out enclosures which can dry out skin but that is why you mist often and have a dish they can soak in so they dont dry out

 Wtf Question???????????

Also you can add a heat pad so that you can use less lamp. Use lots of live plants and soil and big water dish.

 Wtf Question???????????

ok let me restate that

yes they can live in room temps

but they shouldnt they wont live long and they cant properly digest their food

so if you goal is to slowly kill your frog them yes they can be kept at room temps

bubbalover
please do NOT give anyone advice it is obvious you have done no research on your frogs b/c it seems you are doing alot wrong
how about instead of getting another frog you buy a bulb they cost $2 at walmart for the price of a frog you can buy several so you never run out

if you truly loved your frog you would give him a proper habitat so he could live a long and healthy life

 Wtf Question???????????

High 70’s, low 80’s is a good temp range for White’s. They don’t need terribly high humidity, too much humidity can lead to a host of problems. 30% is a good range for the humdity. As long as you have a water dish with clean fresh water your frog will not dry out.

 Wtf Question???????????

On this one Bubba is right and wrong. If you are planning on wintering your white’s for breeding or other purposes. Lowered temps and reduced light cycles, coupled with less food, is perfectly fine. To keep a White’s around 65 at all times would be like asking a kid from FL to move to Michigan for the rest of his life.

Most books are dated though. I’m proud and a little surprised that you read a book, but sadly the information in most of those has been tweaked and rewritten due to new research and discoveries. It’s this cool thing called science that people have to keep working at to understand it better. You read an old enough book and it’ll tell you the world is flat. It’s not your fault, but just be open to the fact that there’s people out there that know more than you with better resources and obviously more experience. Beautiful thing is, we all started out just as ignorant, we can learn and become better, or just argue.

 Wtf Question???????????

yes i know people cool them but i didint think the original poster was asking for that

and yes books can be very outdated

one lady said she read a waterdragon book that said you could feed them anything people could eat and that they especially liked balongia and hotdogs!!!! which were a cheap and nutritious food source!!!!

i told her not to read that book anymore lol

i have read aloooot of books and found every one had some kind of mistake
some were worse than others about how much incorect info was in there so you really have to be careful

thats why forums like this are so great :)
