Funny story and Grey tree frog?!?!

Hi all, I’m usually on the wd forum, but thought I’d take a slide over here, lol. I have a tendency to rescue animals in need, either from owners no longer able to care for them for one reason or another, to animals who have been in a bad place far too long. As a result I have acquired a number of animals who are now part of my family.

Ok, so the other morning I’m laying in bed sleeping and I wake up, turn my head towards my pitt bull, Ike, who was sleeping next to me and I open my eyes to see this lil frog on my dog’s back!!!!! I mean literally, somehow or another this lil frog made it into my house, pass all my pets (including cats and dogs), in my room, on my bed and on top of my dog!!!! I couldn’t believe it!!!! I snatched it up real quick and put it in a critter keeper I keep around. Took some pictures and then added some moss and a couple branches to the keeper. My kids named it Crazy Frog which I think suits it very well, lol. Now normally we’ll see a critter outside or in the creek and check it out and then let it go about it’s business. But this lil guy came and checked us out! LOL!!

I haven’t completely made my mind up about keeping it or not, but have read up and I’m pretty sure it is a Grey Treefrog which are very common in Oklahoma where I live. Normally keeping it wouldn’t be an option because I am very adament about wild animals being left to be wild, but I don’t know....There’s something about this time that just kinda makes it a special circumstance. That and I know that the stray dogs that run around the creek from time to time like to catch frogs and toads if they see em. I’ve saved a couple of toads from dogs there.

Anyway, I have a 20Tall that I’m going to set-up for him and see if he eats for me before deciding for sure. Got some crickets today so I can try tonight. I put a fly and a moth in there last night. They aren’t there anymore, but not sure if it’s because he ate them or not.

Here’s some pics. If you guys could tell me if I’m right about him being a Grey Treefrog I’d appreciate it!! Hope you enjoy my funny frog story as much as I do!! LOL!! It was crazy I tell ya!! LOL!!

Thanks!!!!!!!!

Yep gray tree frog. Easy to keep. Get it a 10-15 gal tank with lots of branches and leaves. Or let it go.

Funny story? Sounds more like destiny, lol. But seriously I would let it go... let the wild animals roam free.

LOL! Thanks guys!! Yeah it did kinda seem like fate or something. I mean if I hadn’t have opened my eyes when I did, I wonder where he would’ve wound up. (LOL, on my face maybe???) Actually I’m thinking she cuz I haven’t heard her chirp. I got her set up in the 20Tall, just need to add some eco earth. If she hasn’t eaten by Wednesday or so, then I’m gonna let her go by the creek. She has been pretty active at night. Jumpin around on the logs and climbing the glass, so I’m hoping if I get things set up right for her she might eat.

Such a cutie!!
