Sexing American Green Tree Frogs? My boyfriend has a bunch of these little guys and I am afraid of them breeding. So I would like to know how to tell the males from the females so I could give him another 10 gallon to seperate them. I read that the males make noises, but they are all silent. Is it possible that they all happen to be female?
Thanks,
Holly

Sexing American Green Tree Frogs? How many do you have? There shouldn’t be more than 2 or 3 together per 10 gallon. Males do make more noise, especially at night. Females are supposed to be a little larger than males. If there are too many housed together, they may be stressed and not exhibiting normal behavior. What is the set up like for them? temps, substrate, food, water? Having a sub par enclosure setup can also cause stress and lack of normal behaviors.

Sexing American Green Tree Frogs? Minimum enclosure size for any tree frog in my mind is 20 gallons. Males will croak if happy. Females will be a big bigger.
