Is my White’s Tree Frog sick?

Hi, I just got a White’s Tree Frog (Stevie) a few days ago.. I keep it in a ten gallon tank with bark and moss, wood to climb and to hide under and a bowl with sea sponge in it to reserve moisture. I feed it live crickets.

So, I noticed a slightly pink color on his belly and hind legs and he’s shed once already since I got him, and is quite tranquil. He doesnt react much if I touch him but when I start picking him up he is eager to either sleep on my collar bone or jump off onto my table, find a small area and sleep there. Is this considered him being listless? I have noticed him soak in the water bowl maybe three times so I wouldnt say he does it often. He eats his crickets like there is no tomorrow, but... still, the pink color concerns me. I read it could be Red Leg disease and i REALLY hope its not..

Its not THAT red, its just pinkish.. and it was more reddish before, but now its less. I read it could be irritaion from being handled. I am always handling him... which I will cut down on because I found out its not that great for them.

Anyway, tell me what you think. THANKS!!!!

Long live STEVIEEEEE!!!! (who by the way is named that because I dont know the gender..)

Just a silly question but you aren’t using tap water for his bowl are you, and making sure your hands are wet when you handle him and free from chemicals? Just a thought.

Is my White’s Tree Frog sick?

it sounds normal to me

they are pretty lazy especially during the day

but you really should only handle them very rarely if at all

especially since he is new, new animals should be left alone for several days anyway to get used to their new surroundings

sitting water out takes out most stuff but if your water is treated with cloramine it doesnt get evaporated out

both my whites have a pinkish color but that is normal it is just their muscle showing through

it is probably better to use spring water rather than tap cause you can never be sure that its safe for them to soak in, hope your frog is doing well =>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
