Seeing as the original poster speaks Danish or something close to that, and lives in the Netherlands, and finds that species in her garden frequently. It is probably a toad, most likely a Euro Spadefoot, judging by the skin excretions. There are many species of frogs that will vocalize when frightened. As cute as the video looks, that toad is screaming out of fear for his life. In my book that’s not something a captive toad or frog should ever be encouraged purposefully to do. If you want a loud frog a male frog or toad of any species will be quite vocal as an adult. Reed frogs are small, active, and very loud. My M. nasuta sound like fog horns when they call. Spring peepers will, well... peep.

Getting a frog just to hear it make a sound similar to that though, would be equivalent to you tossing your son in front of a lion just to hear the sound of him cry in fear. I know that’s not your intention, but animal behavior (especially that of non-domesticated animals) happens for real reasons centered largely around the struggle to live. Humans forget that all the time.

Ya i thought "cute" but i didnt want it to scream out of fear. I had a whites that barked all the time. when i saw this vid i thought maybe that species would be as vocal as a whites. {id get another whites but i was far to attached to my baby to do so just yet :( }
we want a talker more than any thing. we could sit and talk to our baby all the time and he woud bark back. he bonded extreamly well with us. i have yet to go to a shop and find one that wont sqiurt at me now. id love to have one thats loud and easy to care for.
we own a veriety of animals {snakes to ferrets and fish lol} and are looking into another frog. we need a simple ,easy to care for one because we do have alot of pets to care for and i dont want to neglect any one.

thanks for the "fear thing" tho. i didnt relize they did that out of a scare. im glad that one didnt get hurt!
