 Question

It probably was trying to eat some small aphids or other tiny insects that were crawling on the leaves...
I would recommend going easy on the mealworms, because their tough skins can make them hard to digest, but you could try small moths or any type of non-toxic bugs you find outdoors. In my experience, however, crickets seem to be fine for them as a staple diet.

 Question

Worms move to slowly for frogs to see, so they won’t go after them. I feed mine crickets.
