Please feed them a diet of mainly insects, because using too many pinkies has been implicated in a number of health problems with amphibians including corneal lipid deposits which can cause them to become blind.

I feed a main diet of crickets but how many per time and per week . Also i only feed maby one pinky per month, is this bad ? How can i train the male to take from tweasers like he used to.
Ps do i need to dust the crickets.

I haven’t yet kept WTFs but I have kept some green and gray treefrogs for some time...
they have very large appetites and each one will eat at least one or two medium crickets almost every day.

Personally I feel that if you gut-load your crickets with nutritious foods (I use fish food flakes and bird food egg mash) and use well-fed crickets that are not too skinny, it might not be that important to dust the crickets, since they already provide plenty of nutrition to the frogs, although it might still be advisable to dust them occasionally (once a week or so), particularly for young, growing frogs. I guess it will not be harmful to occasionally feed them a pinky, but in strict moderation (just once a month maybe).
I have noticed that some amphibians tend to be a little shy about taking food from a straw or tweezers, so just let him catch his own food if necessary, it’s how they do it in nature! Eventually, he might become a little more tame, but each individual behaves differently, some are more outgoing than others.

Dont you already keep storage crickets? I have 12 medium frogs and 2 small lizards , and I go through 100 a week. so if you have luck you can probably keep 50, crickets lifespan is only a few weeks, so you kinda have to plan well.

Yes, definitely so. If you keep any number of herps, you need to keep a cricket colony. It’s not really too difficult... I use a large plastic file fox with a tight fitting lid that has plenty of small holes drilled in it for ventilation (the holes should be small so the crickets can’t escsape through them). I lay out about an inch of wood mulch on the bottom to absorb odors, but am not sure if this is necessary... I put out two trays, one with cricket food (I use fish food flakes and bird food egg mash) and one for water,in which I put moistened pebbles which I mist once daily (standing water is bad for crickets because they drown easily). You should also put in some egg crates of similar items for the crickets to climb on and hide in.

I also end up going through at least 100 crickets a week, but if I start with several hundred small ones (and a few large ones as needed), they can last for a few weeks without having to restock during that time.
