 MY TORTOISES EYES PROBLEMS

Go to your local pet store. There are eye drops for tortoises and turtles. Please follow the instructions and get their eyes treated right away.

Did you get the eye drops for your turtles? If so, how are they doing.

 MY TORTOISES EYES PROBLEMS

Pet Smart or Pet Supermarket should have eye drops for turtles. Ask one of the managers at the pet store to help you with finding it.

If you aren’t going to get the eye drops for her, then you need to take her to a veterinarian. If you can’t afford to take her to a veterianarian, then do the humane thing and turn her over to a non-kill shelter so she can get medical treatment and then be adopted by someone that knows how to care for this poor turtle.

 MY TORTOISES EYES PROBLEMS

Quik thing, those are box turtles not tortoises. What is the cage like? The box turtles need high humidity...wet and hot. The tempurature needs to be at least 80-95 and then a bottom of the cage bedding of something close to cypress mulch and dirt mixed together- spray this with clean water daily- damp not soaking. A water bowl deep enough to come to where the bottom and top shells meet. Feed them fruit, greens, bugs, worms....try to get a good mix going. They need either 12 hours of sunlight- not through a window or small screening (direct as much as you can with safety in mind- cats, birds etc will eat them) or uvb/uva light bulbs.

I think personally unless they are making noise when they breath or have bubbles coming out then they just need the humidity in the cage fixed and they will be fine. If the are making noise or there are bubbles then seperate them all and have them seen by a vet.

Ps I think they said they were someplace else besides the US and that would mean not having the stores we have or the meds we can get. Personally I think also the turtle eye drops are crap...they do nothing. Finding out what the cage setup is and helping someone is what this place is for, not giving ultimatums and then getting pissy when they aren’t followed.

I was not being pissy, as you put it. I think people should do their research before getting animals they can’t care for. It is the poor animal that suffers. And I totally disagree with you as far as eye drops for the turtles. I have seen it work in the two cases that required eye drops. And if someone isn’t going to care for an animal properly, then they should do the humane thing, and give them up for adoption.
