 What kind of snapper??

I was fishing in a pond in my neiborhood today. I cought this turtle and was about to release it when they told me they didnt want turtles in there pond. So i am taking him to my friends house, she has over 50 acres and a huge lake. Besides me fishing there is no humans to annoy or hurt him. Is he an aligator snapper or jest a snapper???
