Was givin a red eared slider, now I dont know what to do.

A girl that works at this pet shop I work at at my low cost pet clinic gave me a red eared slider cause she wanted to get rid of it. She ensured me it was easy to take care of. And I wouldn’t have too much trouble. So I bought all the literature and books I could on the little guy (he’s very small. like 2 3 inches around), and I’m not sure I can do it. I want to, for I am growing fond of it. But I just don’t have the space. Are there places that accept donations? I know that he has to be at least 4 inches long before a pet store will take him, but I just don’t think I can take care of him.

The girl told me nothing these animals. Even had the nerve to say, "He’s easy to clean."

She was just trying to pawn it off cause she didn’t want to spend the time to take care of it. But if I hadn’t she was going to release it into the wild. I would like to take care of it however. I bought him a 30 gallon tank. I gave him a little floating dock. Had a left over reptisun from my Uro Mastyx. Got a small basking light. The whole shabang.

Anyways, advice would be helpfull.

Unless you want to spend all your money upgrading, tanks I would suggest that you buy a 100 gal tank and a very strong filter
