Size Difference I have 2 RES about 4.5 inches across in a 40 gallon breeder someone gave me 2 hatchling aquatics can i house all 4 together in the 40 gallon breeder just until the end of the year? (At the end of the year I’ll put the 2 hatchlings in their own 40 breeder) Right now the 2 hatchlings are in a 20L wut should i do?

Size Difference Well you could give it a try but keep your eye on all 4 every second until you are sure they get along. They may be just fine if they have enough room and food for all of them, but then again the bigger turtles may go after the hachlings and seriously hurt them. We tried putting a hatchling in with our older babies and they went after him as though they thought he was food! To be on the safe side, can you leave the little guys in the 20L tank for now or do you need to combine the turtles for some reason?

Size Difference DON"T MIX No larger turtles often attack smaller ones. RES are especially famous for this. A 40 is pretty small for a 4 inch turtle anyway (it needs a larger tank soon) and the crowding will tempt the larger one (possibly) to violence. larger sliders even eat hatchlings.

Size Difference DON"T MIX I agree with Zebeck, you shouldn’t mix them. The larger ones could hurt the smaller ones.

im just wondering what if you have 2 different breeds but when there added they where the same and grew at the same rate intill the smaller ones stopped growing or the bigger ones got bigger quicker would they suddenly get agressive if they hadnt been before.
