Help me
 my mississippi map turtle has all this white stuff on his skin, looks like slime, and he doesnt do anything but sit and does nothing. Is he dying or is he a lazy egghead

Help me  Take the turtle, let it sit in nice, WARM water, then gently rub it down and get the slime off, if it comes back, take your turtle to the vet.-collin

Help me  It sounds sick. Turtles generally aren’t lazy ... a healthy turtle should be active. I agree though, get that stuff off of him and make a vet appt.

Help me  Don’t buy turtles from turtle farms! Ever! Unless other herpers suggest it to you! Turtle farms are almost as bad as those iguana farms! MIllions of them, no special attention, all they get is food, water, and space. They need interaction, vet cheakups, etc., etc., etc .... Get a turtle from a breeder if AT ALL possible. Go to reptile expos near you. I am going to one of the largest reptile shows in the U.S on the 24th in Richmond, Virginia. Expos are great. By the way, sorry for your loss!
