Are they fighting Yes that would be the turtle "kissing". It can also happen to show territory. Like I had one turtle in a tank by itself and it’s friend out in a pond and when the weather was bad I would bring the one from the pond in and put it in the tank with the other and it would do the turtle kissing to say hey this is my tank what are you doing here. then everything would be fine, it wasn’t mating cuz they were like 4 weeks old. now they live together and with 2 other turtles.

Are they fighting Looks like they might be getting ready to mate. That means that you will have to set up a nesting box sometime in the future ... even if you don’t want to keep the eggs (which, for a RES, I recommend you don’t) you need to give the female someplace to lay them safely. Good luck!

Are they fighting RES are already overpopulated in the pet industry. You should easily be able to sell them to a pet store but then you have to wonder as to how moral that would be seeing as most of them would go to bad homes where they would be kept improperly ... those that survived the first year in these homes (estimated to be less than 10%) would likely end up in rescue organizations who already have an overflow of these guys every year and have to give them away because no one wants them ... So, it is up to you. That’s why I would elect not to incubate them ... they are almost guaranteed a bad life. :(You should be looking at around 30 eggs at a time.

Are they fighting Yes, I almost beg you not to incubate the eggs. I saw the tank my four babies came out of and just thinking about it sickens me. There had to be at least 100 of them in a 10 gallon tank at the store in Myrtle Beach. Please don’t let anymore suffer!
