 A sad memory

A couple of years ago, in the middle of winter, one of my turtles died. I could not bury her because the ground was frozen. So I just put her in the freezer until summer. Well, i forgot about her and left her in the secret spot in the freezer. I just found her today, perfecly preserved, with her little eyes barley open. Today, 2 years and 146 days after the death, I will finally bury her. RIP.

She drowned in her cage, I have no idea how or why. I was like "hey, wheres the ice cream!? Oh look, a turtle" I found her upside down on her shell in the water.

my map turtle died today. it was really really slow today and could not swim. it was forming white skin-like stuff on its hind feet and part of its feet looked reddish and it just showed signs it was sick yesterday. the turtle didn’t eat for a few weeks i think but i wasn’t worried then because he never ate when i was around. then i found out he was very light when i picked him up, which i hadn’t done in a while.and i couldn’t get the vet in time. i don’t know what this disease is but it is getting passed on to the vonurable of my turtles. i thoroughly wash the cages and turtles out once a month but it seems to still be there and has taken my common snapper,caspian pond turtle,2 hatchling yellow bellie sliders, and the map turtle. i don’t know what to do other than clean the cages frequently. any advice from anyone?

Sorry man, sounds like you’ve plague ripping through your animals. I would replace everything and buy chemicals from the pet store to reduse deasese spread and algea. Here is a Link that helped me when my turtle was sick.

be careful. some brats we were watching let one of our turtles out and a week later we found him wayyy down the street in the gutter, he was run over by a car :(

the first time he got out he as goen for a month and he was in the neighbors yard just going back and forth back and forth until they finaaly decieded to ask us... are you missing a turtle?? go figure..

Why do people mess with stuff that isn’t theres!!!! I would have gotten really mad at them little brats. You must keep your turtles outside. If I were you I would do something about it. I don’t know what but I would do something!

I have lost many turtles and tortoises... its one of the sadest things in the Hole world to lose a friend...
And I to have had a couple experiances with little brats killing my animals.
One girl FRIED some of my pregnant spnys and fence lizards
And a bunch of little kids came in and dumped crap and sewage and toilet paper into one of my tadpole tanks
People have killed a couple years ago, one of my baby mapturtle, painted, red ear, and cooter just for fun

I hate peoople like that.. thats why it can be so hard loosing animals... cause animals dont really judge you hold grudges or try to make you misreable.they are sinless really..so yeah... lossing animals is sad all together and I cant wait till people like that get punished.
Like a couple weeks ago.at the elementry school (not our highschool) little kids went around in the night ripping up peoples class pets!!! CAN YOU BELEIVE THAT?

yeah um catch one of those kids in the act and tie him up, get your paintball gun and shoot him in the place and when you’re done you can tell amphibeandude to be a witness and you have the evidence and call the sheriff or spca or whatever for animal abuse.

also set up video cameras and alarms on the doors and walls where you keep your animals.

these kids somewhere around here got a coachwhip snake and cut it open alive and left it.someone found the coachwhip and took it to the vet and they found the kids and the kids are getting a penalty for animal abuse.

dude some kids at our school (highschoolers) did that
they choped up a whiptail
paintballed a yellow racer into THREE peices
and Taped a anoles mouth open and shot paint balls down it

I HATE THEM!!!!!!!!!

they are fahgs. you should paintball their windows at night or set really annoying music or sounds when they are trying to sleep. and then run like heck when they get mad lol.

how can you even shoot painballs down an anoles mouth? the paintball is like 10 times bigger.

get a good video camera or a digital camera and tape or photo them doing that. then report them for animal cruelty. that would be good evidence.you should do that. just make sure you can zoom in on their face and on the animal they are being cruel to.

i may be getting a turtle today so all this is helping me. i know what to excpect when the turtle dies. i ahd a dog die last summer that was really sad. she was part of the family for 13 years. its really sad when you lose your best friend. i know a person who actually says that he cares more about people dieing then animals. truthfully i find it the other way. maybe its because i find animals don’t have a sush a nice life as we do. they get hunted, they are abused. i cried when i heard that belle the second place winner for the kentucky derby died.
