Check out my new hatchling!!!

Ok so I went to the Hamburg reptile show today and was NOT going to get anything BUT I saw this little guy and HAD to have him! He (not sure of gender but will say he) was the smallest RES at the show and is SO cute.

Yeah it was cool except for it was HOT! There was a ton of really cool animals. It’s only a 1 hour drive for me so it was worth it. There is another one August 2nd that I am gonna go to.

i hate them turtle bowls they sell. terrible.

that little guy is very tiny so it should be ok for a short time. will get to be a pain in the butt cleaning ever few days tho. could probably use a better basking area closer to the light.

get a uvb light if you dont already have one. your turtle wont be healthy for long with out it.

Yeah this is just temporary until he gets a little bigger. Yes I have uva/uvb for him and I have added some more land for him. These pics were when I first put him in-I was so excited!!! There is also a filter in there now as well. I’ll have to take pics when I am done with it for everyone to see. He is very active which is good. I had one about this size before and he lived for a long time-not sure what happened to him cause my ex fiance kept him when we split up.

We split up all our animals that we had plus the aquarium the turtle was in was HUGE-about 100 gallons and I was moving into a small 1 room efficiency and did not have the room and he was living in his mom’s basement and had plenty of room. He actually got most of the animals we had but I had a flemish giant that I wanted and got but that was a lot of drama trying to get him. That all happened over 10 years ago-I have been happily married for a little over 8 years now.
