Tank Filter 
I finally broke down and got me a TopFin 20 filter made for 20 gallons for my 10 gallon tank. I was wondering how often I should clean the filter parts. Also I’ve heard that you can re-use the filter cartridge by washing it really good is that true. If not I don’t mind paying only like $1.50 per cartridge. Another thing is, how much water should I replace every week. It says on the box replace 25% of the water every week, but I was thinking, That’s for fish not turtles, so I figured about 50% every week and clean out the whole tank once a month. Would this be good? One last thing, why do people type bump in their messages?

i clean my filter out once every week or when the filter’s parts start getting brown with wastes. i have tried to reuse the cartrige parts but it’s really hard and they rip easily if you do try.i replace like 75-90 pecent of the water every 2-3 weeks.but i have a 70 gallon. it may be easier for you to do 50 percent every week since you have a 10 gallon.

Here’s the picture of my filter and I was wondering, I’m going to get a 50 gallon tank this year or next year and could I just buy an 80 gallon filter and put the 20 gallon filter in there with the 80?

O.K. thanks I’m trying any way to save money pretty soon im getting a water heater made for 10 gallons could I do the same and just buy a water heater made for 40 gallons onstead of buying one for 50?
