He seems to like it, he hasnt stopped swimming much. He is in a 30 gallon tank and he is tiny so he seems like he is having a good time in there all by himself. Now if I could only get him to eat!!

you might want to change the gravel to something a bit more fine(maybe even sand meant for softies). softy’s have very sensitive shells that can get infected very easy with just the smallest cuts or scrapes. other then that i think your tank looks great. |

It looks great and the debris including turtle poop stay on top of the sand. I’d say about 15-20 pounds of sand would be good. If you get quikrete sand from a hardware store you have to clean it a lot. stick some in a bucket, stick a water hose in the bucket and let it just overflow and every once in a while stir it up until the water comes out clear. You have to do that with all sand including aquarium sand. Aquarium sand would be best for a soft shell because the hardware store kind is a lot rougher than aquarium sand which is really soft and fine. |
