Cloudy Water Ok I know that turtle are dirty but I didnt think they would get this dirty over night with a filter. Is there something you can put in the water to get rid of the cloudiness?? Kinda like the stuff you put in fish tanks?
Here are a few pics.

Cloudy Water You could always try a bigger filter. I’m using a filter for a 175 gallon tank in a 40 gallon tank. It works great. No cloudy water and no mess. Also try feeding him in a different tank or tub. The food could make a mess too.

Cloudy Water
My filter is made for a 20 gallon, and it’s in my 10 gallon, and it stays clear all week until I do 50% water change, even though I could probably leave it longer. If I remember right you have a 30 gallon. If so, you need to get a 60 gallon. A 60 gallon version of mine is only $30 at Petsmart.
This is a picture of mine and the brand name.

Cloudy Water the best filter in the world by far is the marineland magnum 350!!!! You can use aquaclear made by tetra like you would for a fish tank to clear up the cloudiness.

Cloudy Water Thank you to alll the replied.
My filter is for a 40 gallon tank and there is only about 10 gallons in the tank now so that shouldnt be a problem.
I did use the watr clarifier for fish tanks and it worked wonders. The tank looks better now then when I first filled it.
Thanks again

Cloudy Water If you’re using substrate (such as gravel) it will hold a lot of dirt that gets stirred up during changes. That could be a lot of what you’re seeing. I’m not a big gravel fan (my turtle was pooping it out for a week from his previous owner when I first got him) but I use crushed coral, which is basically just a digestible calcium-based version of gravel, and it not only traps dirt but also generates it’s own white filmy stuff that can get stirred up into the water kind of annoyingly. A gravel vacuum would probably work, but so does a heavy enough regular filter. I use both a Whisper to skim the floating stuff off the surface and a pond filter that’s good for up to 500 gallons. So the water stays immaculate, especially since I still feed him in a pickle bucket anyway. I wouldn’t have bought something QUITE that strong, but I had him in a horse trough with about a hundred gallons of water for a while. The trough wound up leaking in one section and bowing out in another, so he’s back in a tank with only about sixty gallons, but I’d already bought and assembled the pond filter and just figured I’d keep using it.
