Help For 1st Time Turtle Buyer

I live in Maryland and am thinking about buying a RES turtle and putting it in my 1200 gallon outdoor goldfish and koi pond. I have a couple questions that I was hoping some experienced folks could help me with.

-Do they eat koi and goldfish?
-If you set them up in a outdoor pond do they normally stay there or wander away?
-Can you leave it outside year round in the Maryland area or would I have to bring it inside in the winter?
-Are there any concerns that I should be aware with in regards to cleaning the pond? In other words can the waste from a turtle possibly harm my koi and goldfish?
-Are there any good websites for a first time turtle owner?

They eat koi and goldfish, they will wonder away unless you put chicken wire fencing around and on top so predetors won’t kill it and you will have to feed it, I’m pretty sure you can leave it outside because it will hibernate in the winter, and you will need a powerful filter because turtles make a lot more waste than fish. The only problem with having a turtle in with fish is that no matter the size a turtle may try to eat the fish.
A good website is redearslider.com
