 Thinking of buying a turtle

I was thinking of buying a turtle as a pet but i know nothing about them.
I was wondering what they eat?
What they live in?
What kind to get?
What the up keep is like?
Are they able to be held often?
How often do the cages need to be cleaned?
How big do they get?
How long do they live?
How much they cost and where the best place to but them is?
How much do the tanks and supplies cost?
Do they live in water or on dry land in the tank?
How many turtles should go into the tank?


Any additional info would be very much appreciated.
Whatever you know, i want to know too!
I really want a pet turtle but like i said, i know nothing about them

You need to do some research! Google Valerie Haeckney’s (mostly) Water turtle Information (lots of really, basic questions answered) and Austin’s Turtle page. When you finish with them check out World Chelonia Trust. That will help you narrow your search and answer some of your very broad questions.
