FOREVER!!!! My playsand NEVER cleared up and then stopped up my filter. I will NEVER use it again. Sorry that it happend to you too.

Did you make sure to clean the sand in a bucket very thoroughly? I dumped about 1/4 of the sand in a bucket at a time, fill it up with water and stir it, and keep doing that until the water comes out clear, then add some more and do the same thing until you’re done. But even if you do that, it will take about a week to clear up, about every 3-5 days do a 25%-50% water change about 2 times. I love mine now and it looks great, at first I got worried when it wasn’t clear but now it’s crystal clear.
