 10 Gal Tank Question

I have a 10 gal tank that i’m not using. Is there any kind of turtle that could live comfortably in the tank, and if so what kind would you suggest? I know I won’t go into a bigger tank, I already have a 55 gal tank filled with 6 FBT’s, and I have a 20 gal filled with 2 FBN’s, and this was an extra tank, and I just thought maybe a turtle would work out?

Thanks for your help!

Linda

 10 Gal Tank Question

Unfortunately only one very small baby can live in a 10 gallon tank and not for very long at all really. Most people actually skip 10 gallon tanks and put babies into a 20 gallon tank. but large adult turtles will easily exceed even 55-75 gallon tanks. So, Unfortunately you can not fit a turtle in your tank.

Also, as a general rule of thumb, 1 inch of turtle=10 gallons of tank for healthy turtles. So my 3inch RES has a 30 gallon tank.

 10 Gal Tank Question

Thanks for letting me know! That’s why I was asking, I didn’t want to bring something home and not have the proper set up. I’ll look into something else!

Thank you!!
