Its just something my grandmom came up with. I named her Aya because I wanted a Japanese name and I found out that Aya meant "design" or "colorful". I loved her shell so I named her that. When I explained this to my grandmother she made fun of me because I was so set on picking out a really special name. she kept saying "aya , eieio, whatever the ____ that turtles name is!" I thought it was cute so it stuck.

plus i dont know if its male or female yet, and aya is really a girl’s name so if it ends up being a boy.......
