Wild Baby River Turtles!?!?!?!?!
A River turtle laid eggs on our beach, the eggs should hatch any day. is it ok to keep one of the babies, we think the mother was a turtle that the neighbor released. If it is ok to keep them what do we feed them? right now it is a bad time for the river turtles here because the one cove they live in is 1 mile down river from our beach and since the water is low its hardly there. Could we Keep them till they get bigger and the water get higher, and then release them???? Please respond soon!!!!!

Yeah, i was thinking about taking 2 or 3. we just call them baby river turtles because my parent couldn’t tell if they were sliders or painted turtles. Would a child plastic pool work as a home????

If you know for sure they are eggs from your neighbor’s turtle, then keep all of them(if you have the space).
At least I would

Wild Baby River Turtles!?!?!?!?! A wading pool is great for holding babies. In the spring, the river will be deeper again.
