First of all, I need to know how long it is, but given by the pic it may be a female. Also for every inch of turtle you need 10 gallons. So if it is 6 inches you’d need at least a 60 gallon but you should go ahead and get at least a 75 gallon.

until we can get a tank we’re keeping her in a bucket letting her out to roam our fenced in backyard, keeping a close eye on her the entire time of course. I was wondering if it was okay to do that and if,even when i get a tank, if it would be okay to let her out sometimes.

Also, just because it strikes me as funny, she doesnt hiss or snap. The only time she’s hissed at me is when i woke her up, but who can blame her?

My turtle’s never hissed at me and others don’t also. And actually it’s great to let your turtle out to get some natural sun. As long as you watch carefully.

I just thought it was funny because the other turtles (same kind and age) would snap and hiss....

OKay! i’d been hoping it would be okay... i’m hoping i can get to a pet store within the next few days to get her tank...

Speaking of which could some people post pics of their setups? I just want to get ideas for how to do mine...

Oh I know! The biggest I’ll probably be able to get it is 75, but that’s better than nothing. That’s why I hope it’s a male.
