WARNING TO HATCH LINGS PLEASE READ 
I enjoy keeping turtles in natural enviorment which is why I choose to place my yearling turtles with, feeder rosies, guppies, ghost shrimp, spine less Siamese algae eater, fiddler crabs, and of course two trapdoor snails. My two turtles are a Texas map with great markings, and my prized Siebenrock snake neck turtle. It is in the X-large Rubbermaid and provides ample room with enough rocks and hide. The set up has gone on for year with turtles and almost two as a fish tank. I never read anything like this in a magazine, and I always thought if anything died the turtles would be the cause, but recently a snail killed the snake neck. The snail did it by clamping down on the turtle’s foot with its own foot pad and trapped it to the bottom where it drowned. One in a million the turtle 2-1/2 inch snail 1-1/4 inch. The turtle was perfect in every way well fed and growing and an extremely interesting captive. 150 dollars lost and a lesson learned, never put snails with small turtles. wow i thought i was the only one to have this happen to them i had that happen to mine but i got it just in time so i got a knife and had to killl the snail but i saved my little turtle
