Can you tell me what kind of turtle I am

My husband found this turtle in our backyard this past weekend. We live in Little Rock Arkansas. Can you help me identify what kind of turtle he is? I have been keeping him in a bucket with a small amount of water. I gave him carrots to eat but I don’t think he has eaten any of them. I don’t want him to starve. Please help me!

Plus a bucket with water is no place to house a box turtle or any turtle for that matter.

No need to yell at people. They are here for advice.

Yes it is a three toed box turtle and they live in your area so the best thing to do is to take it back where you found it. They have a home area they stay in. If the area was not safe then try and find a safe area for it to live that has a water source.
They do not live in water but like a large dish to soak in and drink from. They are land turtles and eat veggies, leafy greens, worms, insects and such. When kept in captivity (you can buy ones born in captivity) they require large enclosures with propper heat and UVB lighting or outdoor enclosures. Calcium and vitamin suppliments and so forth. They need high humidity as well.
So please return that one to the wild and if you dicide you want a pet turtle you can try and buy a captive bred one after doing some research.
Hope that helps.
