It’s probably just made up. At least I think so. A 200 year old turtle is pushing it, nevermind a 1000 year old one!

yea i dont think it possible for a 1000 year old turtle, there is relly no way of knowing how old a turtle is unless you have had it since birth, if anyone knows different please let me kow cuzz i would like to know how old mine are then, did you check out the golden soft shell on that same link it was kool, but i never heard of such a thang

smells like BS.

however the ’golden’ softie is real. its a regular chinese softshell (commerically bred for food) so mutations often occur. its basically an albino but with orange pigments. this could be genetic or diet baased as the chinese are often adding dye to animal food.
i rememebr reading about an arowana supplier in china feeding the arowana frogs injected with dye to make the arowanas get a nice red colour typical of more expencive breeds.
