 Have a shell question!! Please help!!

HI, I have a African Side Neck turtle, and I just got him maybe 3 or 4 weeks ago. I noticed that he has something weird going on with his shell. If anyone has any tips advice, anything info on the shell problem. Is it a problem? Sickness? Please let me know your opions. Thanks, Lindsay

It’s hard to see; can you get a closer pic of it? Is the area soft or "give" when you press on it? It could be shell rot or some other "infection." A closer pic would help figure it out better.

chances are its a WC turtle. so it could be an injury from the wild or tansport.

injuries can get infected, i take it the turtle have a dry basking area?

is they any ? blood? foul smell? sections of dead tissue? hard or soft? anything that looks like cheese?
