 Floating baby snapper?

Well, my girlfriend urgently called me up the other day insisting she’d found a baby turtle and it wasn’t doing well. When I got my hands on him, his eyes were closed and he wasn’t moving much..put him in some water and he stretched his neck out and scuttled around a bit. He’s now in a tank with water he -could- submerge in..but he’s not. He floats around on the top, and only occasionally goes to the bottom of the tank. Does anyone know quite why he does this? Entertainment purposes, perhaps? He has no trouble getting under, he just lets his little self sink down and trots around the tank.

if turtles cannot submerge themself its usualyl a sing of ill health, often somthing to do with the respiratory system. he might just be floating at tue surface for fun..
keep an eye on him. so long as he can sink to the bottom dont be too alarmed just yet.
