RES NEVER BASK Sometimes if your water is too warm they won’t bask. You should keep the water around 70 or 75 and around 80 to 90 basking spot

RES NEVER BASK I ’walked in’ on my turtles a couple times the other day. The minute you open the door or the minute they realize you’re approaching, they’ll jump back into the water. They just don’t like being available to people I guess.

RES NEVER BASK They will become adjusted to you watching them bask over time. My two could care less if you come to look at them while they bask, I talk to them while they bask and they don’t move at all. I just adopted my sisters two and they’ve started to warm up to being watched basking. i think they realized that the other two don’t jump into the water when i come down the steps so it must be safe for them to stay there too. and if you have more than one you may catch them basking stacked on top of one another. mine are famous for laying on top of each other while basking. and now that i have four i’ve found them laying in a big pile of four. i’m working on getting some pictures to share.
