Quick Shedding Question Just trying to confirm that when shedding starts and is happening the uro can become very lethargic and remain in hiding? My little guy has been in his hiding spot all day and I didn’t see him come out to back or eat. I took a quick peek at him looks like he may be starting to shed on his legs and back. He was also making some wierd movements could this be because hes irritated? Looked as though his body was moving like when a snake slithers. Anything else I should be aware of during the shed? This is my first one with him. Thanks in adavance.

Quick Shedding Question Yes, they do tend to hide & sleep a bit more when shedding, but it could also be that he’s just sleepy today. Sheds are usually quite amusing... his movements may be trying to get loose skin off (unless they are very exaggerated & seizure like, of course). Just keep an eye on him the next couple of days. Rodan’s last shed was pretty funny. It came off his back in a big strip from the neck to the tail & he couldn’t get it off. Finally, he reached around & bit the flap of skin and ate it off!

Quick Shedding Question Ditto - all three of my Uros get lethargic and hide and sleep a lot in the days before starting a major shed. I would, too, if all of my skin was about to peel off LOL!

Quick Shedding Question It must itch!! Chip has started scratching the top of his head on the rocks lately. He is kinds gray and drab, so I know he is in shed...yet again!! Seems he just finished and he is starting again! (Being as he is young, that is a good sign though!!) I think the scratching helps get it off, but I have also seen him run around with a full body "sail" just flapping in the breeze. Doesn’t seem to phase him!
