Question about Zoo Med Excavator Substrate

Good or bad? Its the stuff you mix into a clay for tunneling purposes. Thanks in advance for your responses!

Question about Zoo Med Excavator Substrate

Very expensive for a uro-sized enclosure, and it dries rock hard. I gave it a pass. Maybe for a leopard gecko or something.

Question about Zoo Med Excavator Substrate

I bought some a long time ago, but haven’t gotten around to trying it, so I’d be interested in hearing what others have to say, too. One thing I wonder about is if it is accidentally ingested, do you think it would be harder to pass than regular sand?

Question about Zoo Med Excavator Substrate

We bought a few bags and attempted to make a custom hide for our Mali, it was tricky to work with. We didn’t use it as a regular substrate for the ingestion reasons, but once the hide dried it was very hard and sturdy. I would recommend it for purposes like this but for an entire substrate I’m leaning towards the no.
