I finally got my camera. I must admit that my skills are limited at the moment, and that my current memory card barely holds anything. Also, Stirwin was quite camera shy today. Here’s at least one pic of him so far:

Sorry that it’s so blurry. =( I’ll get better at it. XD

Welcome .Nice pictures . Can you post more info on your set up and Uro? Please read the post "before posting" and answer as many questions as you can . He looks thin and the cage looks very small . You also need to have your UVB light suspended inside of the cage . The screen creates a shadow effect and he is not getting the needed UVB rays .The entire cage needs to be brightly lit up and you need two digital thermometers and an infra red temp . gun so you can be sure that you have the proper temps . Having a large cage , proper temps and feeding the right staple foods are extremely important . If you answer the questions we will be able to give you better advice .

No, no. lol He likes to be out and about. Quite social, unless he’s in a bad mood. Then he just glares at me. 0_0

He’s probably a few years old. I got him two Christmas’s ago. (Does that make any sense? XD) He was probably like 1-2 years when I bought him. No one wanted him, because he wasn’t a baby.

I’m not new. lol I’ve been here for a while.

Trust me, he’s not thin! XD He’s fat. When he sits, his blubber spills over on the sides. The pics make him look thin, though.

There is no screen. It’s a 40 gallon tank.

I’ve already gotten tons of advice from here, and I’ve gone through this whole thing. lol He’s good. Promise. ^^

I know some people have cages with no screen tops . I would HIGHLY recommend having a screen top and find a way to hang the uvb light inside. Contrary to popular belief , uro’s WILL jump , climb and find a way out ! I have heard way too many stories of peoples uros escaping from cages without lids and them saying " I didn’t think uros climb ? " If you keep an animal in a cage that’s not secured don’t be shocked when he escapes .

He’s too lazy to escape. Besides, there isn’t anything for him to climb on top of. Once, he climbed up on these branches and got out. Ever since, I never put them back in. It was funny though, because he just started walking around slowly, looking for me. lol

There is a screen in the pictures . I do not see any thermometers and the cage ,40 gallons is to small for a Uro .He does look plump in the last picture though . If you have been here awhile then you already know that your cage is to small and that you need the proper thermometers .

What do you mean by screen?

I already know a lot of things:

1. I’m not ready to buy a new tank for him.
2. He has a thermometer.

I didn’t post this for a lecture. I just wanted to show you guys, Stirwin. Thanks for the advice, but I’m good.

the picture is a little fuzzy, but I don’t see a screen.... I do agree with skullkeeper though, tank is probably too small for a 4 yr old Uro (looks like a mali to me...) he will outgrow that for sure.

He will get a bigger tank eventually, but for now I think he’s good. My camera makes everything look much smaller than it really is.
