Yellow in the urate??? Piggybacking on the other post below.. What does it mean if there is a small ammt of yellow in the urate? My guys is mostly white but a little yellow tinge at the one end..
I have been trying to get him to eat more greens but so far hes not. He always had dried bean mix available at all times. But it seemed he would only eat those and (he)slowly started phasing out the greens. I took the beans out two days ago and so far I havent really noticed him eating his greens at all... He will take a few bites if I wake him in the evening and hand feed him.. Other than that he is totally acting normal, out all day and tryng to climb the log hes got in there...
There have been several posts of uros not eating latley, so not sure whats going on... Can anyone offer any help? Thanx in advance..

Yellow in the urate??? I would stop all dried foods or beans and feed just greens for awhile . Rince the greens in cold water , shake off the excess and feed . Yellow urates usually mean hes not getting enough fluids .

Yellow in the urate??? Thanx. this is what Ive been doing.. Tonight when I woke him up. He ate about a whole grape. At least its some fluid. But he still doesnt want greens at all... He was eating the dandy greens but then he wont even sniff them.. I have been trying escarole and endive this past week hoping a change might peek his appetite.. Nothing yet. He seems to like the sugary sweet things.. like the grapes and he does like some bannana... I’ll keep trying the next few days.. He will eat eventually if hes hungry right? ... lol THanx for the help!!

Yellow in the urate??? I would also hold off on feeding dandelions , they are a diuretic .Bananas are very sticky and since Uros are such messy eaters I would not feed bananas either . If you do make sure that they do not stick to his mouth or any where on his skin . I try to stay away from sticky fruits . You might try cutting up a few sweet red or orange bell peppers and place them on top of his greens . They are attracted to bright colors . Edible pesticide free flowers like roses , orchids or hibiscus might also encourage him to eat more .Have you tried acorn squash or zucinni? They both contain alot of water and are good for him .
